Australia will abolish a 10 per cent GST on women's hygiene products from January 1, 2019, the Australian broadcasting corporation reported. In addition to Australia, the Indian government announced in July that it would no longer impose a 12 percent commodity tax on sanitary pads. In addition, more than 10 states, including Jamaica, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Tanzania, Lebanon, Kenya, Ireland, Canada and the United States, are exempt from the tax, and the UK is expected to introduce the policy in 2022.
